PROGRAM
Duration: 12 days 11 nights
1st day: departure from Italy- ARLES - NARBONNE (km 881)
Departure from the places of origin in the morning (northern Italy). Via the motorway you can reach the Ligurian Coast and the French Riviera. Free lunch during the trip. In the afternoon stop in Arles, a charming Provençal town of Roman origin, for a walk in the beautiful historic center and admire the splendid Roman amphitheater and the beautiful portal of the Church of St-Trophime. Resumption of the journey to Narbonne; upon arrival, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day: NARBONNE - LOURDES - PAMPLONA (km 324 + 237)
Breakfast at the hotel and free lunch during the trip. Departure for Carcassonne, a splendid example of a fortified medieval citadel, which will be seen as a whole from the motorway, to continue to Lourdes. Time available for the celebration of Holy Mass and continuation to Palmplona with a stop at Roncesvalles, a pass in the Pyrenees where pilgrims have passed since the Middle Ages. Arrival in Pamplona in the evening, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight.
3rd day: PAMPLONA – P.TE REINA –S. DOMINGO CALZADA - BURGOS (km 213)
Breakfast at the hotel and free lunch during the trip. In the morning, a short walk in the historic center with its narrow streets and the beautiful cathedral of Romanesque origin, then departure for Puente de la Reina, a small village that marks the beginning of the "Camino" to Santiago. After a brief stop, resume the journey to Santo Domingo della Calzada, an important stop on the "Camino" built in the 11th century with a splendid predominantly Gothic cathedral. Arrival in Burgos in the evening, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
4th day: BURGOS - LEON (km 182)
Breakfast at the hotel and free lunch. Visit of this beautiful city: the Cathedral, the third largest in Spain, after that of Seville and Toledo; the Certosa di Miraflores and the beautiful alleys of the historic center. In the afternoon departure for the beautiful Leon. Arrival, accommodation in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
5th day: LEON - PONFERRADA (km 103)
Free breakfast and lunch. Departure of the group on foot for the Leon-Astorga stage (about 20 km). The other participants will be able to visit Leon with its Cathedral and its historic center. Arrival in Ponferrada in the afternoon. Hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.
6th day: PONFERRADA - CEBREIRO - SAMOS - SARRIA (km 97)
Breakfast at the hotel and free lunch during the trip. Departure towards the Cebreiro Pass, with the typical pre-Roman houses. Possibility to make a stretch of the walk on foot (about 15 km). Stop in Samos to admire the imposing Benedictine monastery and continue to Sarria, a pleasant town, built around a hospice for pilgrims. Hotel accommodation: dinner and overnight stay.
7th day: SARRIA - LABACOLLA - SANTIAGO (km 120)
Breakfast and continuation of the pilgrimage to Santiago through the sweet and green hills of Galicia. Free lunch. In the afternoon, stops in Labacolla, a place where pilgrims stopped to prepare for the meeting with St. James and Monte do Gozo, the Monte della Gioia, from where you could have a splendid view of the sanctuary and the city of Santiago. From Monte do Gozo you can walk the last stretch to reach Santiago de Compostela (about 6 km). Upon arrival, hotel accommodation: cena overnight.
Day 8: SANTIAGO
Breakfast and dinner at the hotel. In the morning meeting with the guide and visit of the splendid medieval historical center dominated by the imposing and very rich cathedral where the relics of St. James are. In the afternoon time available to complete the visits and for individual activities. Overnight.
9th day: SANTIAGO - FINISTERRE - SANTIAGO (km 105/120)
Half board. In the morning departure for Cape Finisterre, the westernmost Cape in Spain, where the shells of pilgrims are collected and where the body of San Giacomo landed. Return to Santiago in the evening. Overnight.
10th day: SANTIAGO - SANTANDER - BILBAO (km 590)
Breakfast at the hotel and immediate departure for the Basque coast, extremely green and suggestive. Free lunch during the trip. Arrival in Santander, one of the most elegant seaside resorts on the Cantabrian coast and a suggestive walk in the center. Resuming the journey we will reach Bilbao, the capital of Biscay, famous for the very famous Guggenheim Museum, with its very modern architectural forms. Hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay .
Day 11: BILBAO - ZARAGOZA - BARCELONA (km 600)
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Zaragoza, capital of Aragon and well-known pilgrimage center of the Iberian Peninsula: Visit of the important sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna del Pilar. Free lunch. In the afternoon resumption of the journey to Barcelona. Upon arrival, a short panoramic view of the city or a walk on the Ramblas. In good time boarding the ship and departure. Free dinner on board and overnight stay in the assigned cabins.
12th day: GENOA - arrival
Free morning on board. In the evening, disembarkation in Genoa and transfer to the places of origin of the trip.
